Not so ‘doom and gloom’ today

I found the earring. It was lying on my sidewalk and after pulling my house apart, walking up and down the snow covered streets, calling the restaurant, going to the restaurant today and looking through their parking lot, and then coming home more mopey than before….I get out of my car and it was twinkling hello.

It’s not just the earring. I had such a wonderful birthday celebration last year. I was made to feel like the most special person in the world. This year, I just felt a bit abandoned. And losing the earring just made me feel sick with sadness.

I really want to thank you all for being so damn sweet to me in the comments in that last sad post and in your emails. It made me feel better. I’m lucky to have people like you all to comfort me, even if it’s through these channels. You all are wonderful people.

They are small silver hoops with a garnet in them. I’ll be posting a picture of them with all of my other treasures later this week.

I’m so happy I found it. I almost cried.

There really is nothing worse than not being able to find something. I HATE HATE HATE looking for shit, and I’m the type of person to always be losing something. Grrrr.

You know, studies have shown that this is the shittiest week of the year for most people. I don’t know what that means since your birthday falls in it. Maybe you should plan an un-birthday celebration for the summer, where you go down to Mexico and tell all the cabana boys it’s your birthday. Free backrubs by the pool you know.

YAY!!! I’m so glad you found the earring.
When I was 23, my mom got me a pair of diamond earrings… they were goregous and perfect. I planned to wear them on my Wedding Day & practially put lo-jack on them. One day, I saw that I was missing one. It killed me. I’m still not over that. I never found the other diamond, of course, but I still have the one earring.

I’m so sorry your Birthday was so horrible. No one should have to feel like that, especially when they’re so considerate, selfless and giving when it comes to everyone else. Had I realized, I would have jumped into my car and celebrated with you.

I am glad you found your earring. I once lost my grandmother’s engagement ring in the washing machine in our apartment building and one of other tenant’s found it and actually returned it to me. My birthday was not a lot better this year because we were moving. I spent it packing boxes. Glad you found the earring. I folded a pair up in a tent on time and did not find them until the next year.
