I feel like it hasn’t rained a healthy steady rain in months here. It’s been raining all day and I love it. Soaking, steady, cleansing rain. It’s supposed to be cool and rainy all week. For someone who hates the summer, like me, this is awesome news.
I know I’m behind the times, but I read the whole Twilight Series and I loved it. A friend at work lent me Twilight about a month ago and I put off reading it for whatever reason. I never heard of the book before and it sounded a bit hokey. A girl falling in love with a vampire. Yeah, like I haven’t heard or read that one before. Well, I got sucked in and loved the book. And then I found out that the fourth book just came out, with much fanfare which I again missed, and I immediately went out and bought all four books in hardcover. I loved each book. And I just found out that they made a movie of the first book, Twilight, and I’m really excited to see it when it comes out. The trailer looks really interesting. I hope they stayed true to the story, because it’s quite a beautiful, and strange, love story.
Oh, and I forgot to share a fun little story with you all. On Friday, I was walking back to work from the Reading Terminal Market at lunchtime and my skirt blew up over my head. Yup. I was walking over a subway grate and a train must have gone past, and the next thing I knew my skirt was blocking my vision. Luckily, I was wearing panties.
And now, for those of you interested, I have recorded a Podcast where I talk about the songs on my playlist and what they mean to me. You can listen to it here if you want.
It’s been over 100 degrees here every single day, so I’ve been craving rain! I just took the garbage out and was relieved to find the ground damp. I hope it rains good and hard here too!
My sister just told me about the “Twilight” series and I added it to my Amazon wish list. Glad to hear another good review from you.
WOO HOO!!! I’ll be back with comments after I listen to the podcast.
I loved the Twilight series too. Glad to see you’re doing a little better:)
HD’s partner at work recommended the books to me and then said I should just borrow hers so I have. I’m close to the end of the 2nd book and am really enjoying the story. I haven’t seen the trailer for the movie at all but I knew about the movie before I even new about the books. Entertainment Weekly has a small article in this weeks mag about the fans speaking out about the final book. I was tempted to read but decided not to just incase there’s a spoiler or two. I want to find out when I read the book who she ends up with and how it’ll all end.
Whoa. What happened to my other comment? If you deleted it because it was stupid, that’s cool, but if it was lost by accident I’ll try to remember what I said. It was a lot of feedbacky stuff about your podcast.
Okay, I’ll try again. I probably did something retarded like not hit submit before powering down the laptop of something. Here’s what I can remember of what I said. I had some song specific feedback and a joke about your “people not worth knowing comment” but this is the stuff I remember specifically:
Best podcast ever. Makes me pissed off again that missed all the radio shows. Grrr.
And no, I didn’t think the list was corny and yes I was interested.
One more thing, about the words not cooperating. What if you changed your method of doing a first draft? Instead of opening the computer … what if you wrote it down with a pen and paper first? Maybe sitting in a park with the wind and sun and writing on a pad? That could loosen up your mind, I dunno.
lucky for you..it seems like all it has done is rain here in the Northeast..ugggh…enjoy the downtime.
I had the skirt thing happen to me once a long, long time ago. It was when I worked in a law office and I had to take the mail down every day at 4:00 p.m. to the mailbox on the side of the building. That day I was wearing a black jersey shirt dress type of thing that went about three inches above my knee. It was very windy (duh!) and as I was trying to balance the mail going in the box and myself, the wind caught me at just the right angle and blew my whole dress up. Luckily I was the only one outside at the moment (or so I think) but it caught me so off guard that I dropped whatever mail I had in my arms on the ground and just busted out laughing, and had a good tidbit to tell everyone when I walked back in the office.
What color panties? heh heh
